The short version
Slap Card is a local-first app with no account system. Your decks, cards, study history, images, and backups live on your device. The only personal data we ever receive is what you choose to send us in a support request — nothing else leaves your device.
Your content stays on your device
We do not collect, transmit, or store your cards, decks, review history, or images on our servers. There is no Slap Card account and no server-side copy of your library. Everything you create stays in the app's local storage and, if you turn it on, your own iCloud (via Apple's CloudKit — data goes from your device to your iCloud, never to us). Backups are written to a Files-visible folder on your device.
Support requests — the one thing we receive
If you open a support ticket inside the app (Settings → Get help), we receive only what's needed to read and answer it:
- Your message — the subject and text you type.
- An anonymous install identifier — a random ID generated by your copy of the app so we can attach our reply to the right conversation. It is not your name, your Apple ID, your advertising identifier, or anything that identifies you personally, and we don't link it to your identity.
- Your email — only if you choose to add one (the field is optional).
- Basic diagnostics — your app version and iOS version, so we can reproduce bugs.
This information is used solely to respond to your support request. We never sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to build a profile of you.
Who processes support data (subprocessors)
Support messages are stored with Supabase (database) and routed through Netlify (serverless functions). To alert us to a new request, the message is also delivered to our private team chat via Telegram. These providers process the data only to deliver the service to us and are bound to protect it to at least the standard described here.
Data retention & deletion
We keep support conversations only as long as needed to help you and to handle any follow-up, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your support history at any time by emailing slap-card@slapforge.com; we'll remove it promptly. Because support data is tied only to a random install ID, deleting and reinstalling the app also detaches it.
Purchases
Slap Card Pro is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Apple handles the transaction; we receive only the anonymous entitlement status needed to unlock Pro. We never see your payment details.
AI card drafts & imports
On-device AI generation never leaves your device. When you import an Anki, Quizlet, or CSV file, parsing happens entirely on your device — the file is not uploaded anywhere.
Children
Slap Card is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us support data, email us and we'll delete it.
App Store privacy label
Because of the support feature, our App Store privacy label declares a small amount of data not linked to your identity and used only for app functionality / customer support: the support message you write (User Content), your optional email (Contact Info), the anonymous install ID (Identifier), and app diagnostics. If you never contact support, the app collects nothing.
